February 25, 2018 – As part of Airbnb’s Black History Month Initiative, Airbnb’s Black Employee Resource Group in partnership with the Museum of the African Diaspora hosted a panel discussion examining the Evolution of Black Travel.

Working with Calvin RamseyNAACP and Nomadness, they honored Black History month by hosting a panel that examines Black travel in this country. Starting with the historical perspective, specifically, The Green Book, Author and Playwright, Calvin Ramsey, explored the constraints under which Black people traveled during segregation. Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP focused on the present state of Black travel including their partnership with Airbnb. Finally, Evita Robinson of Nomadness led a discussion on the future of Black travel – group travel and land investment.
