UNCF “ A mind is Gala…” and the CBE Code Black Gala are coming together for one night of celebrating excellence in the Black community and fundraising for nonprofits dedicated to elevating students of color.

One Night…..One Purpose! One of San Francisco’s most glamorous affairs filled with soulful music, high fashion and celebrity guests!

CBE is excited to partner with UNCF to celebrate 75 years of excellence and to honor CBE’s Impact Nonprofits who are dedicated to providing programs to support first generation college students of color. Join us for a fun-filled night bringing together Black professionals from a variety of backgrounds and industries to celebrate Black excellence, build community, and recognize trailblazers who are positively impacting the Black community!

Celebrations continue pre and post dinner including live music, cocktails and dancing. Entertainment includes: Musiq Soulchild (Headliner**), Martin Luther (The Roots) Pre-Dinner Concert in the Atrium, Best Intentions (Ol’ School Motown), Steve Carter Group (Jazz Trio), and The Soul Rebel DJs.

The Moveable Feast

The Moveable Feast is an elegant black tie unforgettable dinner with an opportunity to walk around and taste a variety of cuisines while networking with an impressive crowd of San Francisco’s professionals, philanthropists, and style icons—all gathered together at the Atrium and Waterfront Lounge. Lounge seating and a self serve feast is yours for the Gala, featuring “An Up Close and Personal” pre-dinner concert with Martin Luther from The Roots followed by a simulcast of the entire program from the Grand Ballroom. Continue the evening at the Dessert Reception and After-Party, with live music, dancing, wine tasting and signature cocktails. Join everyone for an exclusive post dinner concert featuring Musiq Soulchild.

Formal 3-course dinner

The elegant formal black-tie evening begins with cocktails, complimentary wine, and live jazz by the Steve Carter Group in the Grand Ballroom Foyer followed by a formal 3-course sit-down dinner in the Grand Ballroom. Reserved and general seating is yours at the Gala, featuring MC host Christin Ayers-Reporter KPIX5 , salute to Bay Area awardees, a live auction supporting HBCUs, and a guest speaker. Continue the evening at the Dessert Reception featuring ol’ school Motown by the Best Intentions, dancing, and signature cocktails. Join everyone for an exclusive post dinner live concert featuring Musiq Soulchild.

Proceeds from the gala benefits Coalition of Black Excellence and United Negro College Fund in support of financial support to students of color and our historically black college and universities (HBCUs).

CBE & Chef Mimi partnered to host the Black Food & Wine Experience on the road to CBE Week 2019! Four chefs participated in fierce live cooking competition to determine which chef would design the menu for the CBE & UNCF Gala on February 23, 2019!
